Subject: [Ecb-list] ECB - BURSARIES FOR CODE

We are organising an international conference in Cambridge in April in
England.

The CODE website is under construction at www.cl.cam.ac.uk/CODE. I can also
send you some brochures if you want any paper-based information.

Main dates of the conference are 4-6 April; there will also be associated
events on 7, 8 and 10 April in Cambridge and in London. Associated
programme includes a Philippe Parreno exhibition, workshop and
demonstration by the RADICAL research team and a talk at the Tate Modern
being programmed by MUTE magazine.

As part of the CODE event, we would like to offer some bursaries to
international digital media and cultural activists and practitioners who
would otherwise find it difficult or impossible to attend. We have 18
bursaries available which will cover free attendance at the conference,
three nights accommodation and ?250 towards travel costs. Our primary
target areas for these awards are non-EU countries and particularly Eastern
Europe, Asia, South America and Africa.

We wish to target the best people to attend the conference and if you would
like to nominate someone who you think should have a bursary then please
get in contact with them, see if they can attend and then ask them to get
in touch with me. Our closing date for receiving nominations will be 9th
February and I would welcome a page or two of text, with links if
appropriate, setting out reasons for wishing to attend and including some
personal/career details. We will make decisions by 25th February about the
recipients of the awards.

Do pass this email onto other lists as you see fit. If we get deluged with
applications I hope you will be kind if your nominated person is not
successful - we will try to cover as wide a field as possible in terms of
disciplinary interests, some geographical spread etc. Get in touch if you
want any further information.

MANY THANKS

BRONAC
