These guys you are refering to are very gentle and open minded to humans.

But if you worry about standing out being the women in the crowd. Actualy I
will be present at Hal with my sub-event Power Pong (see also
http://www.xs4all.nl/~oertijd/ppong/ ). This installation is made with men
and women as user in mind.

What I do want to say; if there will be a segregation of sexes in the
computer scene; We women have to inspect how we helped to accomplish this.
Being around this scene for more then a decade, I can testimony that those
male geeks are glad/reliefed if we women join their topics. Secondly 'guys'
boosting what they have done with system 'bla' while the others tops his
achivement with a story about system 'blib' is a very essential exchange
mechanism of computer knowledge. And thirdly, guys showing of their
knowledge like peakon feathers, are most of the time 'not the best in the
class'.

A bit longish answer, I hope it explains that women at Hal will be normal
human beings. If you are interested in the facts behind your daily computer
system; Consider going there and join the discussions i.r.l.
