[Nettime-nl] BarCamp Rotterdam, deze vrijdag @WORM |
http://www.barcamp.org/BarCampRotterdam + First BarCamp Rotterdam Friday, Nov. 9, 20-1h + Topic: Open Source Media + at WORM, Achterhaven 148, Rotterdam-Delfshaven <www.wormweb.nl> organized in collaboration with Piet Zwart Institute Media Design <pzwart.wdka.hro.nl/mdma> + What is a BarCamp? BarCamps are informal, collective "speaker's corner" meetings on digital media and software, and made up of presentations by practitioners. The format is mostly identical to that of Hack Meetings: There are no previously scheduled talks or presentations, but participants sign up their presentations on a paper schedule upon arrival at the BarCamp location. For more information, see www.barcamp.org and en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BarCamp + What will happen at the Rotterdam BarCamp? This depends on you and an interesting mix of participants! The topic, Open Source media, encompasses a lot: open source media technologies from web design with free content management systems to audio and video editing on Linux, broadcasting with free software, but also: open content and open source media activism, music and arts; whatever is an artistic, technological and philosophical alternative to proprietary media technology and distribution. If you are working in this field, please come and tell something about it. WORM and Piet Zwart people, for example, plan to speak about video editing with Cinelerra and open source audio/video streaming. + What is available for your presentations? There will be three places equipped with beamers (two of them also with speakers) and wireless networking in the WORM cinema, concert and bar areas. If necessary, we can set up additional smaller speaker's corners with conventional monitors instead of beamers. (Disclaimer: We only have ADSL internet at WORM, so bear with the bandwidth.) + Why only one night? This will be the first BarCamp in Rotterdam. We'll have a compact and dense event this time and see whether in the future, more extensive BarCamps will be needed. - For those who need to a place to crash overnight, a limited amount of private accommodation will be available in the neighborhood. Please contact Florian Cramer from Piet Zwart Institute <J.J.F.Cramer@hro.nl> or Katelyn from WORM <katelyn@wormweb.nl> if you need a place to sleep. aag qaaaaap aaaaaaaa qaap aaaa yQQQ aQQQQWQWQQQ6a QQWQWQWQQQ6 yQQQQ6 aaap aap qQWQQf QQQfqQQQP WQQQp QQQ WQQf qQQQQQQw yQQWQ6 ]QQQp qQQQQQQp yQQP QQQQ QQQQ QQQ yWQQf qQQQP WQQp yQQPQQQ6 4QQQayQQP)WQQpqQQQ' QQQQ QQQQ QQQqayWQQP qQQQP WQQyQQQ WQQ' 4QQQQQP 4QQQQQQP ?QQQp yQQQ' QQQQQWQQQaa QQQQ QQQQQ ?QQ? ?QQQ? 4QQQQQ' ?QQQQaaaaaWQQQ' QQQ ?WQQQQQQQ WQQ ?QQW^ '?WWWQWWP?'
