The repressive operation is coordinated by the Turin's police and it refers to the last May 19th demonstration in Turin against the G8 University Summit. Police also irrupted in the Social Center Askatasuna in Turin and in the space where the independent Radio Sherwood is keeping the annual self-funding festival in Padua. 21 people have been arrested: 6 in Turin, 3 in Padua, 4 in Bologna, 1 in Naples and 1 in Milan. The charges are resistance to police and damages. Right now police inspections are still going on. This is the police revenge against the Anomalous wave and the mafioso Italian government warning at the beginning of the anti G8 demonstrations in Italy. Freedom for all, now! Let's support the students against the repression of the italian governement! * Press release of the anomalous wave: *The Wave cannot be arrested =96 Our anti-G8 is now inside the offices of the Italian university deans.* At dawn this morning, in the framework of an investigation ordered by Torino's Public Prosecutor office, Italian police made dozens of unwarranted house searches against students and activists. 21 of them are under arrest: 15 in prison, 6 under house-arrest. This is the unjust response of the government and the Public Prosecutor Giancarlo Caselli to the mass demonstrations in Torino on 18-19 May against the G8. This is a clear suspension of any form of democratic right: the charges don't justify remands after two months. Therefore, we are facing a direct attempt of intimidation against the Wave just a few days before the G8 in L'Aquila, a forum which clearly no longer has any democratic legitimacy now. The answer of the Wave is instant. Immediately, students from all Italian cities have organized demonstrations, occupations, city blockades and meetings against the police's heavy-handed operation. The slogan is one: freedom for all now! In the Wave there are no good or bad students: it's one huge movement that expresses the main form of social opposition in this country in the last months. We demand an immediate, clear and unequivocal statement by the university institutions against these arrests. Otherwise, deans and their offices will be under remand by the Wave. For this reason we have begun to occupy the dean's offices of our universities and we'll not stop until the last student is released. *Let's generalize the Wave, generalize freedom! Freedom for all now!* Anomalous Wave - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Date: Mon, 6 Jul 2009 14:58:30 +0200 Subject: =?windows-1252?Q?COMUNICATO_DI_SOLIDARIETA=92_DELLA_SAPIENZA_IN_ONDA?= From: claudia bernardi <clod.zeta@gmail.com> www.uniriot.org<http://www.uniriot.org/uniriotII/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=719:comunicato-di-solidarieta-della-sapienza-in-onda-dal-rettorato-occupato-per-protestare-contro-gli-arresti&catid=85:comunicati&Itemid=279> COMUNICATO DI SOLIDARIETA? Sixteen students have been imprisoned, and other five have to stay under house arrest. Moreover two social centres and several houses have been raided and searched in Turin, Padua and Naples. The students arrested are in charge of resistance to police and violence during the G8 University in Turin on May. The Anomalous Wave occupied the universities, took the streets and blocked the cities against the unsustainable and illegitimate G8 University Summit, and against the crazy policy of the Italian government. During those days, Turin?s University was animated by several debates and meetings in which edu-factory collective participated too. [The perfect Wave 10.000 against G8, charges and fights into the red zone] <http://www.edu-factory.org/edu15/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=166:the-perfect-wave-10000-against-g8-charges-and-fights-into-the-red-zone&catid=34:struggles&Itemid=53> It is clear the repressive mechanism that wants to hit the movement of the Anomalous Wave. During the last months students, researchers and PhD students have generalized the slogan *?We won?t pay for your crisis!?*creating the Autonomous universities through the process of the Self- Reform. They want to punish the movement cause it?s not subdued to the destiny of precarity, cause it?s the only opposition to an incompetent and unworthy government. It is clear that we are in front of a series of ?preventive arrests? at the beginning of the week of action for the G8 summit in L?Aquila. It is clear that it is a fascist operation led by police to attack and intimidate students and all the activists that will protest during this week. Up to now *several rector?s office and departments in the universities of Pisa, Rome, Bologna, Venice, Turin, Padova, Milan and Naples are being occupied by hundreds of students claiming the immediately freedom and release of the 21 students*. The Anomalous Wave claims for clear statements from the rectors against the criminalization of the students? movement: "We will not go until our university is not positioning itself towards the arrests". As several press releases affirm: *?We have no fear of the future and no nostalgia for the past? ?the wave is still surfing, the perfect wave could not be arrested, FREEDOM FOR ALL NOW!?* More info, video and photos: www.uniriot.org edu-factory collective - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - # distributed via <nettime>: no commercial use without permission # <nettime> is a moderated mailing list for net criticism, # collaborative text filtering and cultural politics of the nets # more info: http://mail.kein.org/mailman/listinfo/nettime-l # archive: http://www.nettime.org contact: nettime@kein.org
