[Nettime-bold] A Sad Loss to Humanity in 911, Doug of Brooklynhookers.com |
About a month ago when I first started setting up Internet Gossip [internetgossip.com], a guy I knew online gave me a lot of help. Doug owned BrooklynHookers.com and was staff writer for RandomWrestling.org, where there is a much better tribute to him please visit them. He worked in the World Trade Center on the 98th floor as a software tester. He was having an AIM conversation with another friend when suddenly his internet connection was cut, and no one has heard from him since. Doug was recently married and started BrooklynHookers hoping to make some extra money to save for a house. I myself have spoken with Doug many times as he has helped me a great deal with aggrevating html questions with which most people would become annoyed. Its strange as I just talked to him Monday night, working out some bugs and just laughing about useless things. Now, I see his name on my "buddy" list and I can't take it off. I keep hoping I'm going to hear that door open on AIM and Doug's going to instant message me with something funny like, "Dude, where have YOU been?!?" I am comfortable making that joke because I know Doug would have laughed at it. Thanks for all your help, and God bless you and your family. from internetgossip.com September 2001 via 'The Wayback Machine' or Internet Archive.
