[Nettime-bold] Re: <nettime> Lou Dobbs on Bush Speech |
"This as you say a non-regulation, anti-regulation president, yet he is now presiding over what will be an enormous expansion and a number of regulations. He has also been a president preaching small government. He is presiding over the largest expansion in government in more than a decade. He talks about free trade, yet he's the first to raise tariffs on steel imports." Dobbs got right at the heart of the matter there, Bush went into it claiming to be all about "principle" and now he is seemingly going against everything he claims to be for. You can only piss off so many of your backers before they come for your head. I wonder how the neoliberal elite are dealing with this... the masses still seem to support him (he's still polling above 70% isnt he?), but all this hypocracy... he can only ride the Terror War so long before it turns into a joke, it's the same sort of thing that took his daddy down, the combination of the blatant "no new taxes" lie and the appearance of not dealing with the economy properly. Bush seems to be living up to his caricature, if he keeps this up I wouldn't be suprised if the whole charade came flying apart. Anyone want to take bets that his poll numbers tank during/after the upcoming elections? _________________________________________________________________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com _______________________________________________ Nettime-bold mailing list Nettime-bold@nettime.org http://amsterdam.nettime.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/nettime-bold
