[Nettime-bold] Virus warning - do not open e-mail attachments from me dated 7/27 |
Friends: I am deeply sorry that last night my computer has been the vector for an e-mail virus called "Sircam." It replicates through e-mail attachments. I urge you not to open any files associated with e-mails from me from the past day. When I discovered the virus this morning, I immediately unplugged the corporate network to ensure that this apology and warning would not itself spread Sircam or any other malignant program. I hope that those of you who received virus-related e-mail, a terse message of inferior grammar, were not fooled and are safe. To self-test and, if needed, remove the parasite, McAfee has made available a free scanner and cleaner for this virus at http://vil.nai.com/vil/dispVirus.asp?virus_k=99141. My firm used this software to remove the unwelcome code. Please delete any e-mails from me dated yesterday (7/27), and accept my apologies. -Ray Deck To: nettime-l@bbs.thing.net _______________________________________________ Nettime-bold mailing list Nettime-bold@nettime.org http://www.nettime.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/nettime-bold
